Their mac and cheese is NOT vegetarian. They use chicken stock to make it according to their kitchen manager.
Hi Mike, can you tell me which location told you this? According to their corporate office the mac and cheese should be vegetarian, so I want to straighten this out. Thanks!
I asked about the Mac n cheese at the Springfield Mo location and it does have chicken stock!
Hi Bea,
Thank you for letting me know! I contacted Cheddar’s corporate office about this and this was their response:
“I consulted with our head chef and confirmed that our Mac & Cheese is supposed to be made with vegetable stock. It is concerning to hear that you were told otherwise. I will be touching base with our Springfield, MO location to ensure that they are following the correct recipe as to ensure our vegetarian guests are served properly.”
So the Mac & Cheese across all locations is suppose to be vegetarian, and hopefully now the Springfield, MO location will switch to veggie stock.
The waitress in Arlington TX reported that their Spazania dish is being discontinued & some shrimp parmesan dish takes it’s place. That leaves nothing but a vegetable plate for vegetarians. I don’t need to go out for a veggy plate. That’s hardly what I call a “made from scratch” entree.
Does anyone know if the white gravy for mashed potatoes have any time of lard in it? We were told it had no meat in it but I want to make sure what oil is used or what it’s seasoned with.
I’ve never known a chain restaurant to not make gravy without bacon grease or something similar. That’s definitely not something I would order as a vegetarian.
