Pangasius is one of the top 10 most consumed fish worldwide. Typically, the fish called Pangasius actually refers to basa fish, which is a species of catfish. Pangasius can more generally refer to several species of a type of medium to large shark catfish.
Whether it’s referring to the specific fish call basa, or used as a more general term, Pangasius is NOT a kosher fish. This is confirmed by Chabad, who receives their information from the Orthodox Union.
Since all fish with fins and scales are kosher, why is this not???
It has no scales.
