Taco Bueno is a Tex-Mex chain based in Texas that has well over one hundred locations. I contacted their corporate office to find out which menu items are vegetarian. Note that while they don’t use any lard in their kitchens, their refried beans are NOT vegetarian (they contain a beef base with rendered bacon fat). Sadly, our taco bueno no longer Carrie’s black beans or the black bean burrito. Guess I’ll be going elsewhere.
That is a bummer!!! I am a vegetarian and will not eat beans that have lard in them. I black beans all the time.
bacon fat is still part of pig so LARD. YOU’D have more customers cut the crap and the lard
i was told everything that is fried is in the same fryer. it’s all cross contaminated. not very pleased.
