• Actually, I’m wondering how vegan the jelly candies are, as gelatin is nade from animal fat.

• The licorice medallions are very yummy. Soft red licorice with a hint of cherry flavor. Sucks none of the chocolate is vegan but the licorice “knobs” as I call them definitely satisfy my sweet cravings. The worst ingredient in them is Red 40, but for a special occasion, I’m willing to compromise my healthy standards.

• I am a teacher who got a 25$ gift card from a student for Christmas. It's frustrating as this happens every year. We fill out surveys, I tell the kids, but parents don't listen. I couldn't get one piece of chocolate in the entire place! So, I wrote to corporate and said what better way to celebrate their 100 year anniversary, than by offering their vegan customers something we too, can enjoy! Come on, Sees! Evolve!

• All candies at See's are gluten free, except a select few at Christmastime, like the candy canes.

  The Jellybeans and the jelly bird eggs (which are, as of March 2022, a year round item) use a vegetable source as a binder, which is completely vegan. I'm not sure if the information the OP received is accurate, but I hope (as a See's employee) that corporate would have the most up to date and correct information. All ingredients can be found on the website, and each store has a list of ingredients/nutritional information for the candies in the shop as well. Also, it looks like I've got some homework to do.

• Please delete my last comment. I did some research, and it appears that the jellybeans use confectioners glaze, also know as shellac, and can contain bug particles, making it not vegan. There are only a true few vegan options, it seems.

• See's Candies does an amazing job listing the ingredients in each of its products here -- https://www.sees.com/ingredients/. Based on it, several of the items listed in this article are actually NOT vegan. Because I have alpha-gal syndrome, a tick-born allergy to all mammalian products, I'm especially concerned about the items listed above that contain gelatin and less so about the items that contain insect-based ingredients like beeswax and confectioner's glaze.

  The red raspberry hearts contain gelatin and are an absolute no-no. The sour orange pumpkins are made with kosher gelatin (typically fish-based), so while they're not vegan, they're safe for us alpha gals.

  If you have a mammalian meat allergy like me or are following a vegan diet, I encourage you to reference the See's Candies ingredients list rather than follow the advice above before making your candy selection.
