Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar is a huge restaurant chain that has almost 2000 locations. Applebee’s has an extensive menu ranging from salads to burgers to pastas to steaks. However, when I contacted Applebee’s’ corporate office regarding vegan and vegetarian menu options, this was the response I received:
“Thank you for contacting us. At this time we do not have any items that are entirely free of animal products. Applebee’s does not claim its products to be either vegetarian or vegan nor that they meet the requirements for any other special dietary regimen. Dairy and egg products may be present in meatless recipes. Trace amounts of meat or animal products may be present as a result of preparation or cooking.”
Looks like if you are following a vegan or a vegetarian diet, choose another restaurant or eat Applebee’s at your own risk. Hopefully they will put some designated vegan or vegetarian options on the menu sometime soon.
