Cold Stone Creamery is a widespread ice cream parlor chain, famous for customizing flavors right in front of its patrons using their “cold stone.” Considering their popularity and sheer number of locations, I was curious as to whether they accommodate those who follow a vegan diet. As such, I reached out to their corporate headquarters. This was their response:
“We receive requests for soy ice cream from time to time and have considered it. Perhaps when the demand becomes greater, it will be a more viable option for all of the independently owned Cold Stone Creamery stores. We don’t mean to remain on a path of exclusion. As corporate, we have a responsibility to shape policies that will support profitability in the stores.
With our changing world, I hope that someday we’ll be in a better position to act on requests such as yours.”
So unfortunately at this time, Cold Stone does not offer any vegan-friendly flavors. Hopefully they realize the demand is there and will accommodate vegans soon.
